Enhanced Mobile View for File Browser

CentreStack has allowed mobile users to access files and folders in whatever native file browser they were using on their device for some time. In our December 17, 2017 update, we enhanced the way you view and navigate shared files, taking advantage of your device’s native resolution and features. This update creates a natural way to access your files without needing to install the Gladinet CentreStack Mobile App. Here’s an example of what this flow looks like when using an Android phone…       Of course it’s important to install the Cloud Client on your Android or iPhone in order to have the best possible experience when accessing files on the go.

Gladinet Cloud android client over the years has accumulated many features such as thumbnail for pictures, offline browsing, upload multiple pictures, in-place editing of files and etc. The video below documents the new look and feel since November this year.

Gladinet Android Client v2.6 Update

As part of the Gladinet mobile app enhancement and the focus on mobile device support, the Gladinet Cloud Android version 2.6 client was released. This release contains better application interoperability support and remote wipe capability. Open In From other natively installed application, you can use “Open In …” to select Gladinet and upload file from other application back to Gladinet Cloud. Remote Wipe When a user’s account is deleted from Gladinet Cloud, the connected Gladinet Cloud application will clear its own cache and on device information.

Android Client v2.0 for Gladinet Cloud

This week Gladinet Cloud Android Client version 2.0 was released. Earlier this month, Gladinet Cloud iOS 2.0 application was released. Now Android application is released. The iOS client and Android client are on the same release schedule and often you will see them got released one after another. The Android client will work for Gladinet Cloud Personal, Team, Business, Enterprise and Service Provider Editions. In the new version 2.0 client, there are quite many new features added, such as the ability to share files and folders from the device directly and the ability to upload files and sync folders. Sharing from Device In the version 2.0 application, you can send folder or file as link to external users or to the “Files shared with me” folder for users in the same team.

Mobile Clients for OpenStack Swift

In the past articles, we covered OpenStack Swift web front-end so you can access through a web browser. We also covered how you can have a desktop client that connects to OpenStack Swift from your PC or Mac desktop. This article we will discuss mobile clients, such as iOS App, Android App and how they connects to OpenStack Swift. Two years ago, you saw Gladinet products had direct access capabilities to OpenStack Swift. Direct access gives you file-by-file view of what is in the OpenStack Swift instance. However, direct access also limited the access client’s capability to the OpenStack Swift’s programming interface, such as read/write/delete operations. Gladinet Team Client for Blackberry Playbook

Earlier this month, Gladinet Team client for android 2.2 was repackaged for Blackberry Playbook and submitted to Blackberry App World.  This will work for Blackberry Playbook OS 2.0 and above. Android Client for OS 2.3+ Available in Google Play

Two weeks ago, Gladinet Cloud Team Client for Android OS 4.0/4.1 was released to Google Play market store. This week, same android client is ready for OS 2.3+ (API 8 and up). Next step will be to port this android 2.3 based app to Blackberry Playbook. If you bring up Google Play market app from your Android 2.3+ devices, you can find Gladinet Cloud in the Google Play store.  

Android Client for Gladinet Cloud Team Edition

Gladinet Cloud Android App has been released to the Google Play Store since last week.  It is an important addition to the Gladinet Cloud for Teams. After the Web client, Windows client, File server agent, Mac and iOS app support, now it is Android app. You can enjoy a native android app when browsing Gladinet Cloud from your android devices. The first release targets Android devices with OS version 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above (4.1 - Jelly bean). The support for Android devices OS 2.3.3/2.3.5 will come very soon at the end of August 2012. When you search for Gladinet in the Google Play Store, you will see Gladinet App showing up.
