This demonstration shows you how Guest Users are created when you share files, and how the number of guest users can trigger an additional licensed user to be added automatically to your account.

When you add users to your tenant, each user takes one license. Every licensed user allows 3 guest users to be created. This happens any time a share is created and sent to an email address for a user that isn't already in the tenant. So if you have 6 licenses available for your users then you have 18 guest accounts as well. This dramatically expands the usefulness of your licenses and allows others to take advantage of this powerful cloud sync and share solution.

In this example, when you reach the 18 guest user limit, the 19th guest created will trigger the partner portal to add an additional license to your account. This is the default setting, though it can be turned off. This allows your users to have the best experience without interruption.
