Step 2 – Organize Storage Tiers

You may need to categorize your internal data first. Such as the data on this server is more important, the folder with these names are important and so on.  You will need to do so to backup important data first.

Step 3 – Find the Cloud Access Solution

If you have on-premise backup solution already, such as Symantec Backup Exec, or CommVault Simpana, these solutions may have partnered with cloud storage vendors to give you both the backup solution and the cloud storage solution.

If you just have the on-premise backup solution and need a gateway to save the output of the backup to the cloud, you can find a cloud gateway solution. For example, you can use Gladinet CloudAFS to attach cloud storage to file server and backup to the CIFS/SMB network shares exposed by the CloudAFS.

If you need an out of box turnkey cloud backup solution, You can use Gladinet Cloud Backup to backup to your cloud storage of choice.
